Poppy Dorise could not believe she won
As per the website, Dorise qualified for the HOYS Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round with her horse, Running in Heels. It was their third collaboration together and the duo entered the championship in style. During the championship, nearly 81 competitors launched to tackle course designer Gillian Milner’s 11-fence 1.10m track. However, only 22 riders could enter round two. Ultimately only 10 competitors ended up in the final round. Surprisingly, the 9-year-old and her 8-year-old Irish-bred mare emerged as the quickest duo to complete the jump-off round within 4.23 seconds.

Upon winning the race, the little one was justifiably elated. She told the website that she had the guidance of the previous year’s winner Tabitha Kyle and another showjumper Connie Mensley. They were frequently providing her with instructions to tackle the competition well. She also expressed at the end, “I still can’t believe I won by six seconds.”
