Following Their Debut English Single, RIIZE Amps Up Excitement for 2024 Youth Olympics in Gangwon

SM Entertainment has always introduced the K-pop industry to new talents. From NCT to Red Velvet, the powerhouse company has consistently produced chart-topping artists. Now, they are set to take the music industry by storm once more with their newest boy band, RIIZE. These seven boys have won the Rookie of the Year award, but they are no longer newcomers in the industry. After the release of their debut English single, ‘Get A Guitar,’ these boys have garnered international attention and have become mouthpieces for young athletes.

Shotaro, Eunseok, Sungchan, Wonbin, Seunghan, Sohee, and Anton made their debut on September 4, 2023, with the single album, ‘Get A Guitar’. The band has been working nonstop and producing music to catch a new audience. They released the English version of ‘Get A Guitar’ on the heels of their newest single “Talk Saxy”. What’s more interesting is that the RIIZE members did not turn down the offer to create hype for the 2024 Youth Olympics in Gangwon despite their busy schedule.

The 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games will begin in Gangwon on January 19, 2024, and will go on till February 1, 2024. It is a big deal for South Korea, as this is the second time they have been chosen by the IOC in just four iterations. Therefore, they have pulled all the stops and are preparing to showcase their hospitality to the world. The RIIZE members are patriots, and when the opportunity came to serve their country, these boys went above and beyond to promote the Games. The Olympics Games shot a promotional video featuring the RIIZE members and uploaded it on X with the post, “Did you know that @RIIZE_official are big fans of the Olympic Games? They’re as excited for #Gangwon2024 as we are! Let’s go, #YouthOlympics!”.

At the promo, they sounded excited to attend the Youth Olympics. The pop singers were also counting down the 100 days till the start of the tournament. They expressed their love for skiing and snowboarding and were looking forward to watching the performances live. The boys specified that the 2024 Youth Olympics is not just for winning gold medals but also for making “memories with friends from all over the world”. This message of camaraderie and sportsmanship has resonated with the athletic community and highlighted the unifying potential of sports.

RIIZE fosters fraternal feelings in sports

The vision of Gangwon 2024 is to celebrate peaceful coexistence and unity by means of sport. The youth will be instilled with these feelings of togetherness, which might shape a better future. In a world divided by class, race, creed, and language, only sports can bring about world peace and general harmony. RIIZE highlighted the vision of the Olympics committee in their own adorable way. As spokespersons for their country, the RIIZE members welcomed all the athletes with warm words and a bright smile.

These ideals of one community in sport will show in all the 1900 athletes participating in the Youth Olympics. These athletes will be competing for the gold in the 15 events scheduled on the calendar. South Korea has been making significant investments to develop infrastructure for Winter sports.
