One day when Biles expressed her wish to get a belly ring to her parents, her dad was stunned. He never knew such type of fashion trend existed. “No surprise, my dad thought this was an outrageous fashion choice. ‘Why would anyone want a belly piercing?'” recalled Biles.

Later that year, Biles won her first World Championship gold medal as a senior competitor.
