For an Olympic gold medalist like Gabby Douglas, one might assume that she could never stray too far from her sensational skills, even after being out of action for a long time. However, when the two-time World Championships gold medalist shared her latest training routine, her fans weren’t impressed with the results.

For Gabby Douglas, the path to the Olympics looks more difficult than many of her compatriots. Eyeing a comeback after eight long years since her last Olympic gold medal, Gabby has had to overcome difficult obstacles. Missing the 2024 Winter Cup and also the National Training camp did not help, and fans think her latest attempt isn’t the best display of her talent either.

In a recent post on the Subreddit r/Gymnastics, Douglas’ new tumbling pass was shared for gymnastics fans to swoon over. However, while Gabby’s loyalists believe she still has more fights left in her, the video clip shows a lackluster performance, where the gymnast struggles to replicate her signature poise and brilliance on the floor. The post, sharing the original Twitter post by Gymnastics Now, seeks to give fans a chance to marvel at Gabby’s new routine that she hopes will bring her fortune and glory on the grand stage in Paris later this year.

Fans left unimpressed by Gabby’s efforts

One fan thinks the 2012 All-Around Olympic gold medalist’s routine doesn’t look as good as it should be. “I love this but it looks a little shaky“, commented Redditor Foreheadbanks.

Another fan thinks, considering how Douglas’ recent months have been, the gymnast should be cautious about maintaining safety measures as well. “Equally safety first. No point showcasing amazing skills on competition surfaces now to end up broken when it counts“, wrote Green-Television-241 under the post.

For Actual_Comfort_4450, executing even difficult routines while training is one thing, but carrying the same spark where it matters is the benchmark. “It’s “easy” to do hard skills in practice. It’s another thing to do then under the pressure of camp or competition.“, wrote the fan.

Another fan has a few thoughts of their own regarding what Gabby is cooking behind closed doors. “If she’s doing a front full, I think the double Arabian won’t be in her final routine.“, commented gym_fun.
