Team USA did not disappoint in the initial days of the 2023 Trampoline & Tumbling World Championships. In the Men’s Team DMT, they pipped Spain (11 points) and Great Britain (9 points) to the gold. Finally, a DMT gold after 10 years for Team USA

Ruben Padilla took to Instagram to share images of the successful and history-making American DMT team with their medals. Also on the podium was Padilla’s coach, Sven Nielsen. Padilla added the words, “WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS DMT TEAM GOLD MEDALISTS!!! SO proud of this team! Finally it has happened! The boys really pulled through and I could not be happier!!! @simonn_smithh @tomasminc @flippindylan.”

It marked the first time an American men’s team finished at the top of the pile in the DMT since 2013. On that occasion in Sofia, Bulgaria, Alex Renkert, Ryan Roberts, Austin White, and Austin Nacey brought home the gold. Incidentally, that was Team USA’s first gold medal in the men’s team DMT since 1999. The result achieved by Padilla’s team in the current edition of the Trampoline & Tumbling World Championships made history in that regard. With the individual events lying in wait, a lot more lies at stake.
