On October 15, she candidly shared a sad post on her Instagram. Explaining her “full tear” of the anterior cruciate knee ligament, that she suffered during the World Championships earlier this month.

The player tugged at netizens heart with a note that spoke volumes. She said, “As most of you are aware I had to withdraw from the remainder of the World Championship due to a knee injury – this has resulted in being a full tear to my ACL.” Continuing with, “It happened on Friday evening just before coming out to compete in the AA final. This was a freak accident performing a gymnastics prep not one of my competition skills.” The European all-around champion poured her feelings out to her 102k followers.

But the gymnast pledged to do everything possible with the surrounding support to return to the sport she loves. In a noteworthy October display, Brazil, led by World all-around champion Rebeca Andrade, secured its inaugural medal, claiming silver with a team total of 165.530. France, earning its first team medal since 1950, took the bronze with 164.064.
