Led by gymnastics queen Olivia Dunne, the LSU Tigers started their 2024 NCAA Championship campaign with a solid victory against Ohio State on January 5. Tigers carried their breathtaking form into Utah as Olivia once again emerged among the star performers along with LSU securing their 7th perfect 10. However, it wasn’t an easy one as they were taking on the Nation’s top 3 teams including No. 1 Oklahoma.

LSU Gymnastics later kicked off their SEC Championship campaign on January 19th against Kentucky Wildcats. As the NCAA Championship resumes, the Tigers are getting ready to conquer another challenge against Missouri.

Olivia Dunne excited to conquer Missouri

After leading the floor routines for LSU gymnastics in the last few weeks, Olivia Dunne is once again excited to demonstrate her brilliance on the musical beats against the No. 9 Missouri. In her latest Instagram story, Livvy posted a picture of herself as Tigers traveled to Missouri. “Tigz to mizzou“, the 21-year-old captioned the post as her face beamed with excitement.

LSU has been in red-hot form since the start of the season, and so is Olivia Dunne. While she didn’t participate in the SEC opener against Kentucky, the Tigers posted the highest score by any SEC team this year. Led by perfect 10s from Haleigh Bryant and Kiya Johnson, LSU won with scores of 198.125-197.600. In the NCAA Championship opening against Ohio State, the Tigers posted a score of 196.975 as Olivia led the floor routine with a mesmerizing 9.875. But it was the showdown against the top 3 teams at Sprouts Farmers Collegiate Meet that promised a strong season for the Tigers.

LSU took on three big NCAA giants, No.1 Oklahoma, No. 2 Utah, and No. 12 UCLA, inside the Maverick Center on 13th January. Tigers secured a brilliant 2nd place finish with a score of 197.150 only falling behind Oklahoma who posted 197.900. UCLA emerged 3rd with a score of 197.100. They are currently ranked 3rd among the NCAA teams while Missouri is on 9.

Olivia Dunne emerged as the star performer on the floor along with Siera Ballard, posting 9.850 and 9.825 respectively. Balance beams were led by Alexis Junior who posted 9.775 while KJ Johnson posted 9.925 to lead vault routines. LSU also recorded its 7th NCAA perfect 10 in the shape of freshman Connor McClain. Tigers will look to continue their form, and so will Olivia who aims to win the Championship by anyhow in her last year.
