Not only that, but next year she gave tough competition to reigning World Champion Allya Mustafina. That run earned her the silver medal in the all-around at the Birmingham FIG World Cup.?

Recently, Riley took to her social media to post heartbreaking news regarding her gymnastic career future.?

One of Riley McCusker’s recent posts has created much furor about her athletic prospects before the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 22-year-old Gator has posted one video and a picture with the caption, “Bummer, too bad you all have to wait until next year to see this”. The video shows her natural vault whereas the picture shares her injured leg wrapped in a boot plaster.?

However, the reason for Riley’s fateful situation has remained opaque until now. But that couldn’t hinder her teammates from wishing her a speedy recovery. Leanne Wong came at first to wish her a “speedy recovery”. Soon after that, Trinity Thomas appeared in the comment box of Riley’s post to wish her the same.?

As the proper reason for Riley’s injury is still in the dark, the comeback time is still unknown. But as Riley has added, it might be the next season. However, that might inflict jeopardy on her Olympic dream.?

If winning the Texas Woman’s University quad stays as one of the high points in her career, there is no shortage of low points there. The artistic gymnast has been vocal about the importance of a mental state. She even wrote that in her College Woman Application. She accepted that gymnastics prowess came naturally to her. But as she is passionate about her mental state, she wants to fight long to break the stigma related to it in sports.?

Riley McCusker has never shied from accepting the contributions of her fellow teammates in her performance. She has even passed most of the credits of her changeover to Jade Carey, the former Olympic champion.
