The United States has been a breeding ground for some legendary gymnastics names, and Jordan Chiles is surely one of them. She started her competitive gymnastics journey at the tender age of 12, winning staunch titles and medals. However, when she was only 16, Chiles decided to quit gymnastics, but her best friend and one of the greatest gymnasts of all time, Simone Biles, suggested she not do so. The year 2023 also brought a mix of triumphs and setbacks for the NCAA gymnast, marked by a fall during the floor exercise at the World Artistic Gymnastics Selection Camp and another tumble at the Xfinity US Gymnastics National Championships.

However, she managed to pull herself back with all her grace and optimism. Apart from being an accomplished gymnast, Chiles has also been vocal about various aspects of her personal life and career. In a similar vein, the Tualatin native once again leaves everyone in a frenzy with a recent update about her personal life.

Chiles had appeared for a podcast episode with Really Mental Media, and a short clip of the same was shared on their Instagram handle. In the clip, the Olympian is talking about her gymnastics endeavors; she says, “I’ve been able to accomplish a lot, but I won’t consider myself famous until I wake up in the morning and look at myself in the mirror and say you’ve done everything you could have done within yourself.”  Evident from her words, the Oregon-based athlete still has a long way to go, and she also said that she is excited for what the future holds for her.

Chiles never holds back when it comes to speaking honestly about her career endeavors. Before heading to the Pan-American Games, her sponsor Nike shared a video in which the gymnast revealed that she wanted to quit. This came after her name was not included in the U.S. women’s gymnastics team at the 2017 World Championships. She has been an inspiration for those who endure bullying, despite giving their all in their respective fields, as she has openly addressed this issue in the past.
