An Olympic gold doesn’t guarantee success for the coming years and the same has been the case with USA national gymnastics athlete Jade Carey. Carey clinched Olympic gold in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the Floor exercise event. However, the past year hasn’t been the best for USA’s star gymnast, despite giving her best.

Adversities make athletes turn into legends, and Jade Carey has set herself on the same path. Jade Carey rejuvenates herself after a dismal year

The Oregon State University gymnast wouldn’t have manifested the year she’s had. Carey’s despair started with a bronze finish in the vault in the U.S. National Gymnastics Championship. The bronze finish was followed by a 13th ranking at the 2023 World Championships qualifiers. Owing to this indifferent form, she missed out on the 10-member USA Women’s National Gymnastics Team for 2023-24, threatening her participation in Paris Olympics 2024.

However, given her talent and determination, the 2020 floor champion kept pushing. Her despair has ended with a Swiss Cup victory, marking her second title. She, alongside Yul Moldauer, propelled Team USA to the top finish on Sunday in Zurich. After this comeback victory, the 23-year-old didn’t forget to thank her fans. She also admitted her indifferent form in the last year. Captioning her post, Carey wrote, “Thank you Switzerland. This past year has not been the best for me but I am happy I ended this year feeling like myself again and enjoying my gymnastics. It?s always an honor to represent Team USA. Thank you to all my supporters. You mean the world to me ? “.

The road to another Olympic glory seems to have started for the 2x Swiss Cup champion. However, the team for the event has already been announced, headed by Simone Biles. Is there any chance of Carey’s participation in the 2024 Olympics?
