With the Paris Olympics just five months away, gymnasts around the country are setting their eyes on the big prize. At the center of things, national sensation Simone Biles continues to fuel the USA’s dreams by racking up more nominations on a weekly basis. However, while Biles enjoys mass attention from her fans, she isn’t the only one who possesses the necessary skills to subdue USA’s opponents on the grandest event later this year.

Stars like Suni Lee, and Biles’ best friend Jordan Chiles continue to exert their dominance day after day. With the Games coming up, here are all the US gymnastics squadron who can bring glory to their country.

Simone Biles & Co. make a beefed-up squad

A recent Twitter post sheds light on the high level of caliber that USA Gymnastics holds in its sleeves to retain its dominant status in the world. While most of the conversations are often centered around Biles and her chance of a podium finish, the post underscores the depth of the roster who all have a strong claim on a spot in the national team. To make the point clearer, the post shared what looks like a Reddit post that highlights the possible squads the USA can send to the French capital.

The first squad mentions the two-time World Championships gold medalist Morgan Hurd (all-around and team), Olympic silver medalist MyKayla Skinner (if only she makes a comeback from retirement), Olympic gold winner Jade Carey (floors), and two-time world champion Skye Blakely. The second possible squad names Suni Lee, former world champion Grace McCallum (all-around), the 2022 Pan Am Championships gold medalist Kayla DiCello, and two-time world champion Kara Eaker.

The third squad lists Leanne Wong, Jordan Chiles, Riley McCusker, and Konnor McClain. The fourth team is when Biles is finally named along with Olympian Chellsie Memmel, two-time World Championships gold medalist Shilese Jones, and UCLA Bruins star Emily Lee. While the US is set to present a staked squad to the Olympics, their international opponents also have a few tricks in the bag.

International competition eyeing Olympics dominance

The 2020 Olympic gold medalist Viktoria Listunova will be catching her flight to Paris and will eye to defend her title once again on the big stage. She will be joined by her national teammate and the 2021 World Championships gold winner Angelina Melnikova and two-time Junior World Championships gold winner Vladislava Urazova. Similarly, China will also be sending a formidable contingent of its own.

The 2020 balance beam gold medalist Guan Chenchen, two-time Asian Championships gold medalist Lu Yufei, Ou Yushan, and Olympic medalist Tang Xijing will all be eyeing glory at the French capital later this year. Now, it waits to be seen which country will come out on top as the Olympic Games beckons with promises of uncharted exploits.
