However, Owens is not Simone’s first love. Before meeting Owens on a dating app, the young gymnast was dating Stacey Ervin. After years of being with each other, the couple decided to move on their separate ways in 2020. Walking back the lane in an archived interview, Simone is heard talking about her dating life.
Simone never really had the time
People may think that being famous and in the limelight would have given Simone a lot of dating prospects. But unlike girls her age, Simone never had the luxury of time. Elaborating further, in an archived interview with ET, the Olympic Gold medalist says why “she never quite had time for a boyfriend”.

Because of the very hectic schedule, she always had time constraints. As any other 20-year-old, Simone then said, “At 20 years old, I feel like you should have gone through those things and gone on dates.” However, she hardly got a chance, as she expressed her desire to have gone on one “proper date,” the emotions could be felt. All the young girl wanted was to enjoy life.
Before Stacey came into her life, Simone “never had a boyfriend in my life,” For the duo connected for the first time at the P&G Championships. Before they started to date, the two were friends. However, three years into the relationship, things began to get difficult, prompting the young couple to take a significant step!

For Simone Biles, it was never easy
When Simone decided to walk a different road, she was just 23 years. She never publicly confirmed why she took such a major step, but during her 2020 Vogue cover story, she spoke about how she felt after the split.

Whatever happens, it happens for the best, and there’s no denying it. Simone knew the decision “was for the best,” but it was not easy. Expressing her feelings, she said, “It’s hard being young and having that long of a relationship and then ending it.”
