Sunisa Lee is a trusted Auburn through and through. The 2020 Olympic all-around champion must have been elated after Auburn gymnastics’ recent win against Alabama, with a season-high score of 197.725. However, apart from being true to her college, she is a thorough sportsperson. Therefore, she did not miss cheering a worthy performance, even if that came from a rival camp.
Minnesota Gophers Gymnastics celebrated its 50 anniversary on 10 Feb, Saturday at Maturi Pavilion. Several Gophers from previous decades attended the celebrations and cheered the Minnesota Gymnasts on that occasion. On the same day, the team faced the Michigan Wolverines in the NCAA meet. Five-time WCGA All-American and 2023 Big Ten Champion Mya Hooten shined brightly against the Wolverines as she excellently produced her eighth career-perfect 10 on the floor against Michigan. After witnessing her gymnastics prowess, Suni Lee took to her official Instagram handle to cheer up Mya Hooten’s performance. In the clip, the scoreboard showed ’10’ as Suni wrote tagging Mya Hooten, “YOU ARE HERRRR @myahooten_.” However, this is not the first time Suni has cheered for Hooten.
Earlier also, Suni Lee cherished Mya Hooten’s performance, when Hooten scored highest in the match against Iowa women’s gymnastics at the Big Ten Home Opener. The 20-year-old US’s most distinguished gymnast posted a video of Hooten performing a perfect landing during the vault competition and wrote: “My girl.” However, on the night of Hooten’s triumph, Minnesota’s team could not be on the same page.
