Many fans of gymnastics consider Simone Biles to be the GOAT. The Olympic legend has won seven Olympic medals after taking part in two Olympic games. Arguably she could’ve won more if not for mental health issues, which forced her to withdraw in the middle of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

On a different note, this week on November 4, 2022, the fan-favorite gymnast joined an elite few when she named a luxury cruise ship.

The next day, Biles even got the opportunity to flex on Twitter about her achievement.

An epic response from Simone Biles

On November 5, The Medal Count, “An old-school gymnastics blog” on Twitter, left a comment on Stewart Chiron’s tweet. Chiron had posted a video of Biles officially naming the Celebrity Cruises ship. The Medal Count wrote, “Every time Simone Biles goes to the Olympics, one year later she gets a really big boat🤣”. They also wrote, “2016 Olympics: Becomes the sponsor of a 1,106 foot long nuclear aircraft carrier. 2021 Olympics: Becomes the Godmother of a 1,071 long cruise ship.”

However, Simone corrected the “really big boat” part of the statement. The Olympic medalist flexed her $1 billion (note that some sources differ and state $900 million) honor and said, “it’s a ship!!!! not a boat 😉🛳️”. Simone became the godmother of the luxury cruise ship Celebrity Beyond. It’s the latest addition to the Celebrity Cruises lineup and one of her biggest ships.

The Royal Caribbean Group owns Celebrity Cruises. The president and CEO of the group, Jason T. Liberty, said that he couldn’t think of anyone better to christen their newest ship. He also referred to Simone as the GOAT.

As The Medal Count mentions, this isn’t the first time Simone’s name has been associated with massive ships. The Navy selected Olympians Simone Biles and Katie Ledecky to sponsor the USS Enterprise in 2016. In 2022, the pair laid the keel for the Enterprise. Once constructed, it’ll be the ninth US Navy ship to bear the name.

When President Joe Biden awarded Simone Biles

Back in July, President Joe Biden selected Simone Biles to be honored with the Medal of Freedom. It’s a rare and prestigious honor. However, for Biles, it’s even more special because she also became the youngest American to receive the Medal of Freedom.

President Biden had all the right reasons to select Biles because apart from winning Olympic medals, she is also an advocate for mental health, animal welfare and victims of sexual assault.

No one other than Simone Biles can claim to be a seven-time Olympic medalist, the godmother of a cruise ship and be the youngest person to receive the medal of Freedom.

However, Biles is humble in every interaction and her comment, while boastful, wasn’t dismissive.
