Gymnastics queen Simone Biles caused a stir in her fandom by announcing her most awaited comeback back in June. After two years of hiatus, the gymnast is girded up to once again perform her magic on the beam at the upcoming US Classic Championships. Though her fans are excited to see the Olympian in action, her husband Jonathan Owens will not be able to witness Biles’ comeback performance in the wake of work commitments.

In May, a few days after their wedding, Jonathan Owens inked a deal worth $1.01 million with the Green Bay Packers. Following this, the NFL safety had to move to Wisconsin to be with his team at their home base, as the NFL season is nearing. However, as Owens and Biles are both busy preparing for their upcoming events, the couple would not be able to grace their presence at each other’s arena.

The last time we saw the 4-time Olympic gold medalist on the mats was at the Tokyo Olympics. The event was a turning point in Biles’ life. She left the competition in the middle owing to ‘twisties’ and decided to take a break from the gymnastics stage to take care of her mental health. Last month, she announced that she will be on the mats again competing for glory.

She then tweeted, “sorry I’ve been a little MIA since the announcement. I’m overwhelmed with all of your messages, support & love! excited to get back out on the competition floor! XOXO

It will be the first time in two years that we will be able to witness the magic this gymnastics legend is able to weave with her unbelievable moves. Only time will tell if she will be able to do it without her better half rooting for her in the stands. While the couple might not be able to be together for now, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have figured out a way to make it work.

And the couple has been keeping the romance alive through long-distance virtual dates. A few days ago, Biles revealed that she and her beau were keeping in touch through regular Facetime dates. These virtual meets are how they continue to support each other despite their busy and colliding schedules.

While Owens will not be able to make it to support his wife through her comeback, Biles is also unsure whether she will be there to cheer for her husband as the NFL season kicks off in September.
