Simone Biles did not escape the fall curse at the 2024 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Fort Worth. On the final night of the competition, while chasing her ninth all-around National Championship title, the queen was leading the Rotation 6 standings as she moved into her seventh. She approached her forte, the vault, dazzling in a cream GK Elite leotard adorned with sparkles.
However, during her Yurchenko double pike, also known as the Biles II, she had too much power, bounced to her back, and hit the mat with a thud. In order to compete in a vault final, a gymnast must perform two vaults from different groups whose second flight phase is not identical. She executed her second vault, the Cheng, flawlessly, showcasing her resilience and skill.
Come for Simone Biles’ vault, stay for her mom’s reaction. ❤️#XfinityChamps | 📺 NBC & @peacock pic.twitter.com/7Wy3rr9Wmf
