With recognition comes great responsibility. Biles showed the world that one should be very mindful of their comments or posts. They could have a detrimental effect on people. Simone rightly highlighted the toxicity and tastelessness of the comment made by Gabby, which served as fuel to the burning fire. The issue gained momentum to an extent that Gabby chose to undo her mistake by writing an apology.

Gabby realized it was not the camaraderie expected of her as a teammate. Also, she apologized for not wording her response well. Furthermore, she corrected her comments, saying abuse under any circumstance is never acceptable.
