With 32 medals from Olympic and world championship competitions, Simone Biles is the most successful female gymnast in the United States. She did not just earn herself a name but also helped the sport achieve more popularity. With persistence and passion, she could achieve feats that had never been done by any female gymnast before.

With every medal she won, she earned more respect. Simone was just six years old when her journey on the vault started. Since then, she has dedicated hours after hours to perfect the tricks, but her tricks were not restricted to the gym only. Simone recollected her childhood seeing the kids in the neighborhood

In 2018, when Twitter user Jake Dennis shared a video over his social media handle with the caption“the little kids in my neighborhood are the best athletes in the world…,” the gymnast GOAT grew nostalgic. She recalled her days as a kid and re-tweeted the same video.

She wrote, “THIS WAS LEGIT ME AS A KID. my mom lost her marbles. can’t tell you how many times I got yelled at for it.” However, Nellie’s yelling did not stop Simone from practicing her tricks. For the unversed, Simone and her sister were formally adopted by her grandparents in the year 2003.

Since then, two young girls shifted to their grandparent’s house and grew up under their care and guardianship. Over the years, Ronald and Nellie had switched from the roles of grandparents to being their parents. But what prompted them to adopt Simone and her sister?

Recalling that time, Simone once said, “I also believe everything happens for a reason, and I’m forever grateful for that because I definitely got a second shot at life.” The decision changed the life of Biles’ siblings for the better.
