2021 was not easy for Simone Biles. Struggling with her mental health issues in the past, the gymnastics GOAT had a difficult time at the vault. Such was her agony that she decided to withdraw her name from the individual all-around competition at the Tokyo Olympics. For her unprecedented decision, she received a lot of adverse opinions.

While many were upfront in telling her that she took the wrong step. Some people took a stand for her. Amongst the many who came out in support of Simone was her “tall best friend.”

Simone’s friend takes a stand

Simone was one of the most valued players at the 2020 Olympics. With all eyes glued, the expectations were high, and she was well aware of it. Thus, when Simone decided to step down, it was “impossible to comprehend the adversity” that prompted her to take the tough call.

Addressing her as the “greatest friend of all time.” Simone’s friend Kevin Waterman understands and talks about the “impossible trials thrown your way” in his 2021 post. Kevin also thanks her for standing beside him during tough times. Applauding her for her choices, he calls her the “definition of leading by example.”

Kevin acknowledges Simone’s display of courage. He quotes, “to put your own health and well-being first shows true strength, growth, and self-care.”

Showering his love for his best friend, the young lad quotes her as a “barrier-breaking, odd-defying, trailblazing, kick-a** inspiration.” Having got her back, Kevin says that he is thankful for the “friendship.”

Simone Biles’ heartwarming reply

Seeing Kevin’s beautiful post, Simon could not contain her emotions. Replying to the lovely post, the Olympic gold medalist wrote, “You are THE greatest friend!!!!!!!!!!” 

Simone acknowledges his gesture and lovingly refers to him as “my tall friend.” Seeing the heartfelt wordings, she expresses her honest feelings. She writes, “Tears are pouring out my eye.” Seeing many ups and down together, the two friends have come a long way. They often share special posts for each other!
