Clark said of Breaux, “She gave me an opportunity to join her when I needed one, and she had worked 35 years on building this program before I got here and, then, treated me like a partner rather than an assistant”. Before the match, when D-D Breaux was asked if this match was any different than the previous matches, she stated that it was no other than matches played before.

She mentioned with a confident tone about Jay Clarke, “you know Jay Clark is the man, he’s the guy, he was with me for a long part of my journey and for him to be charge in this team and for them knocking on the door of a national championship, for me is as gratifying as if I was there myself.” This shows the immense bond between them. Jay Clarke, who succeeded D-D Breaux as the head coach, is now aiming for a successive win in the Summer Games 2024.
