LSU’s Olivia Dunne and Tigers Get Backing From Olympian Aly Raisman Just Days Before NCAA Gymnastics Finals

Just as this year’s NCAA women’s gymnastics finals have been announced to be held from April 18 to 20, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, the LSU Tigers have been one of the highlighting teams that would be contesting. Out of the eight teams pursuing the ultimate goal this season, LSU Tigers and its star gymnast, Olivia Dunne look out for their first NCAA title.

As the days of the final day are nearing, one of the former American gymnasts and a 2x Olympian, Alexandra Rose Raisman also known as Aly Raisman put up her opinion on the web for the team.

The post on X by Gymnastics Now, re-shared the views of Aly Raisman on the Tigers pursuing their first (NCAA) title portrayed, “I think if there’s a team that can beat Oklahoma, I think it’s LSU.” There has been constant strife between LSU and Oklahoma since the two teams were top-scoring teams during the qualification rounds viz. the NCAA Regionals.

While the 2x defending NCAA Champion, Oklahoma, dominated the Ann Arbor Regionals with a 198.400 score, the LSU Tigers were the top scorers in the Fayetteville (Arkansas) Regionals with a 198.250 on their scoreboard. Both the teams advanced to the NCAA semi finals. The semi finals had the LSUs competing in it first session and the Oklahoma in their second.

The first session in the semi finals was topped by the Olivia Dunne team with a total of 197.4750 and the Oklahoma reigned the second session with a total of 198.1625. As  these two teams have been having a neck-to-neck competition not just now, but throughout the NCAA season 2024, it is perceived that the same would continue in their finals’ routines.

LSU Tigers’ past records, a stepping stone to their first NCAA title

As the excitement for the 2024 NCAA gymnastics finals is raging high, the LSU Tigers have been sharing glimpses of its training sessions that would help them secure their first title, this season. The star gymnast of the team, Olivia Dunne, who is a very popular social media personality also often shares snippets of her training on the bars and beam.

Known for a mesmerizing floor routine, Olivia Dunne and her team recently on their journey to the finals, have made various achievements, the experience of which will definitely count and help them during their NCAA finals.

The top-seeded team had lately won the SEC Championship in March 2024 with a 198.075 total. Senior Haleigh Bryant was the all-around champion and Konnor McClain scored the show’s only perfect 10. The No.2 LSU Tigers also defeated the North Carolina in the Baton Rouge with a close score of 198.250-196.075 in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in the previous month.
