Having won three Olympic golds in Rio, Simone Biles back in 2016 had already become a household name. However, it was not just their professional life that made the people interested in her. Apart from her vault marvels, the young gymnast also grabbed the eyeballs for her personal life.

During the said time, much before she met her fiancé Jonathan Owens, she had a special man in her life. She referred to him as her ‘Brazilian boyfriend.’ As Simone sat for a talk with her team with ‘PEOPLE,’ in 2016, she gave them a sneak peek into her dating life and talked about her ‘boyfriend.’

Biles’ International boyfriend 

During the said time, there was a lot of buzz about Simone’s dating life. Thus, when the chance came, the hosts could not miss out on the opportunity. They straightaway shoot Simone the question, “What’s going on with this guy? Clear the air!”

Sharing a few giggles, the gymnast gave a clear answer. She said, “I am single. I am 100% single.” For the unversed Simone, here is talking about fellow gymnast Arthur Nory Mariano. While Arthur was from Brazil, Simone represented the U.S team. The two meet during the International meets. Eventually, over the years, they became close friends. Though there were reports that the two were dating, Simone said such was not the case.

Talking more about Arthur, all in good humor, the Olympian said, “he is like my international boyfriend; it’s like we just see each other.” Switching from judo to gymnastics, Mariano is one of Brazil’s best all-around gymnasts. Much like Simone, he, too, enjoys a massive fan following. Recently, Arthur won two more gold medals at the South American Games. Their present relationship status remains unknown.

Simone Biles busy preparing for her big day 

As of now, Simone is busy preparing for her wedding with NFL star Jonathan Owens. The two first got together in 2020. And on the eve of Valentine, Jonathan went down on his knee to ask Simone the most crucial question. Before getting the engagement, the two dated for almost two years.

Though the official wedding dates remain under tight wraps, it is expected that the wedding will take place before the 2023 NFL season. Simone is hence busy with her wedding festivities but keeps updating her fans on her social media platform. The fans are really excited about the big day!
