Although, there was one particular gymnast amongst others who caught everyone’s attention. Rebeca Andrade, the star gymnast from Brazil, has emerged as the new star as she won the all-around title this week at the world championships.
For years, the event and the sport were dominated by Biles, who won consecutive titles. But, in her absence, Andrade took the opportunity to make a name for herself. According to WSJ, before this, Brazil has never produced a top-class gymnast at such a high stage.
The 23-year-old gymnast won the event with the highest score of the day [15.166]. Andrade’s performance and perfect execution have set an opinion that she will be the next Simone Biles.
