Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have been dating since 2020 and the couple got engaged in February. While Biles is on a break from competitive gymnastics, Owens continues to grow into a better NFL safety with every passing season. However, just a few years ago, things didn’t look so good for Owens. Jonathan Owens opened up about hitting an all-time low

In an interview with Houston Texans insider Deepi Sidhu, Jonathan Owens opened up about rough times. The Texans safety said, that in high school he’d torn his ACL. However, Owens didn’t even know it till he got himself checked. Since then, the safety focused only on football, but five years later, Owens tore his other ACL. “Didn’t have one injury all of college and then first three weeks in the NFL, I tear my ACL.”, said Owens. He also added, “Then a guy from the front office, he comes down and tells me they are going to put me on injured reserve.”

Owens felt lost. The Texans’ safety said that others would come up to him and say, “Something’s going to happen,” however, Jonathan’s morale took a big hit. Owens believed, “When you’d only played football since I was 12, I don’t know what I am outside of it.” Owen would just sit inside the house, playing with his dog and hoping for some good news.

That good news came when the Houston Texans wanted Owens to try out. The Missouri native gave it his all and on On September 29, 2019, the call came. The Texans were going to sign him to their practice squad. Owens remembered, “I just started crying,” and, “That happened and changed my life.”
