Simone Biles may now be one of the most decorated athletes, but the path to success for her was never easy. Spending life in foster care, life for Simone and her siblings was challenging and uncertain until her maternal grandparents decided to adopt them officially.

Having spent a considerable part of her life in foster care, she thus is aware of the hardships. Hence determined to bring a change now that she is in a position she works effectively towards it. Continuing her noble endeavors, earlier today, Simone shared an Instagram post that reveals why she works for the cause.

Simone talks about the importance of a support system
Having seen tough life, Simone knows that a “solid foundation is key to controlling complexity.” She reveals that her family, friends, and mentors helped her adapt to life’s situations. However, unlike her, not all are blessed with the same. She acknowledges, “not everyone has a support system like I do.”

This is the reason she chose to work with “Friends of Children.” Giving an insight, she adds that it is a children’s charity that pairs foster kids with paid professional mentors from childhood through high school graduation. All in an attempt to help the kids with a strong support system. Inspired by their work, she has thus chosen to team up with them.

Simone Biles and her journey in the foster care
When Simone was a three-year-old baby, government officials stripped her biological mother of her parental rights. Following this, Simone and her siblings ended up in foster care. Changing from one foster care to another, life was difficult for the Biles siblings. The fear of being separated always lingered, but one phone call changed their life for the better.
