After breezing through the second round of the NCAA women’s gymnastics regionals in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Olivia Dunne and her squad are now laser-focused on the Fayetteville Regional Final tonight. The LSU Tigers are gearing up to face tenth-seeded Arkansas, Kentucky, and Minnesota in their quest to secure a spot in the NCAA Gymnastics Championships in Fort Worth, Texas. However, just hours before their crucial matchup, Olivia Dunne issued a succinct five-word warning that has sent ripples through the gymnastics world.

In a recent video from LSU Gymnastics, rapper Tyga sets the stage with encouraging words, narrating, “Here we stand, roaring at the summit of our success. The victories have tasted sweet. But we’re hungry for more. In the heart of the hunt, we’ve found our stride. As we inch closer to the glory we’ve been chasing, we wear out strides proudly. Allowing them to remind us of the moment that made us who we are. It’s time to seize the throne, to wear the crown proudly, and show the world what Tigers are made of.”

Dunne wasted no time in firing off a warning in the comments, stating, “They gon get a taste.” There is no surprise here – the 21-year-old has been dominating all season. But let’s not overlook the competition.

Tonight, Minnesota will make its 43rd NCAA Regionals appearance in 50 years, ready to make a statement on the national stage. Their season has been defined by impressive wins and consistent scores over 197. And let’s not forget the Kentucky Wildcats, who led by coach Tim Garrison, ended the season ranked No. 3. Their standout moment was a 198.100 score against Florida, capping off the season with an average score of 197.592. Meanwhile, the Arkansas Razorbacks are no strangers to the regional scene, making their 20th consecutive appearance this year. This season was one of their best in a while, as Arkansas secured four SEC victories, their highest tally since 2016.

On the other hand, Livvy’s team is riding high on their SEC Championship win last weekend. They soared to victory with an impressive score of 198.075, matching their program’s highest tally at the championships. Hopefully, Dunne can stay true to her warning and lead the Tigers to a national championship in her last season.

Olivia Dunne’s performance this season

Olivia Dunne has been a force to be reckoned with on the gymnastics mat this season, showcasing her skill and determination. She made waves with her standout performances during the preseason of NCAA Gymnastics, setting the stage for what was to come. Her crowning moment came on LSU’s senior night, where she delivered a jaw-dropping performance, earning a career-high 9.975 on beam. Notably, one judge was so impressed that they awarded her a perfect ten for her beam balance routine. Dunne’s excellence didn’t stop there.

At the SEC Championship, she shone once again, contributing a solid 9.80 on bars to lead the LSU Tigers to their fifth SEC title. And she proved that it was no mere fluke after repeating the outstanding feat once again on Thursday. Despite being called upon at the last minute, after coach Jay Clark snubbed Kiya Johnson, Dunne rose to the occasion, delivering a career-defining performance with a sensational floor routine, finishing with a 9.9 score.
