17-Year-Old US Gymnast Nabs 4 Medals at EnBW DTB Pokal 2024

The EnBW DTB Pokal 2024 has just concluded in Stuttgart, Germany, and Team USA walked away with a successful run. Coming out on top of their opponents, the US gymnasts made sure to highlight their prowess with the Olympic Games only five months away. While all eyes were rightfully on the nation’s favorite long-jumping sensation Yul Moldauer, the youngsters weren’t too shabby either.
The Junior Team Challenge was at the center of things on the second day of the DTB Pokal 2024 and Team USA clinched another gold. However, one rising gymnast announced his triumphant arrival to the international gymnastics circuit with a major medal-hauling spree, assuring fans that the country’s gymnastics future is in safe hands.

High-schooler Adam Lakomy has had more than a brilliant run at the EnBW DTB Pokal 2024 with 4 medals to his name, including two golds. The Roselle Park High School student will embark on his senior career after graduating in 2025, but his skills are already sending out ripples across gymnastics connoisseurs. In his recent Instagram post, Lakomy expressed his bewilderment after having stepped on the podium four times throughout the German event.

“First international Competition Representing the US. Proud to be taking home 3 individual event medals along with a Gold Team medal“, wrote Adam in his post. While he is justifiably on Cloud 9 at the moment, he also had to thank his teammates for being a source of inspiration for his journey. “Couldn’t be prouder of this team ❤️ Honored to have the opportunity to represent my country with these guys“, exclaimed Lakomy further.

Along with the team gold, Lakomy also bagged on the top of the podium in the men’s individual rings event with 13.133 points. To make things even better, the youngster came out third in both vault and horizontal bar events. While Adam undoubtedly gave his best, having his family in the stands did help to keep his head in the game, and he had to mention their support as well. “Also grateful for my family from Czech that was able to come out and watch“, stated Lakomy. But he wasn’t the only one to bring glory to the USA from the German event.
The USA’s stellar run in Germany
Adam Lakomy’s claim for gold was bolstered by his teammates. Kiran Mandava, Nathan Roman, Hasan Aydogdu, Sasha Bogonosiuk, and Lakomy came together to claim the top spot in the Junior Team Challenge. On the other hand, the USA Senior Team comprising Cameron Brock, Riley Loos, Yul Moldauer, Curran Phillips, and Shane Wiskus also edged past the Italian team to win the gold at the EnBW DTB Pokal 2024 team event. The mixed team challenge also saw the title returning to the US.

Curran once again saw another gold medal coming his way after a sensational display of skills on the parallel bars. While Moldauer was expected to bring another medal in the pommel horse, he walked away from the tournament with a fourth-place finish.
