Being a public figure is not easy. Regardless of what one does, dodging the public eye and opinion is not easy. Simone Biles was hardly a teenager when she rose to stardom. By establishing herself as a pro, the young gymnast took the world by surprise. However, time and again, the 25-year-old has had to face the heat of social media critics.

Simone takes a stand for herself
In her very first Olympics, Simone Biles won not one, but five medals. She is the gymnast with the most gold medals in history. Apart from being a New York Times bestselling author, she has also appeared in “Dancing With the Stars.” Many would say that she has done enough to suggest that the 25-year-old, who is already considered a legend by her peers, is a perfect role model for ‘the younger generation.’ However, some social media users think otherwise.

A user on Snapchat wrote to Simone, “You’re supposed to be an example to the younger generation…what happened?” For the unversed, the comment was posted after Simone posted a story of her and her friends enjoying a party on Snapchat. The youngsters, all dressed in party clothes, were seen dancing and enjoying every bit of themselves.

Posting the screenshot of the comment, the gymnast maestro took to the stories to share her perspective. Shutting down the judgment with the perfect reply, she wrote, “girl byeeee.” Apparently, the user tried to moral police Simone. The Olympian also hit back as she realized the judgment was passed because she “wore a feather top & leather pants.”

Simone Biles knows how to tackle such negativity
This is, however, not the first time Simone has shut down such opinions. Back in 2017, when the Biles family went on vacation, many passed unpleasant judgments. Understandably, Simone did not take such negative comments lightly, as she quickly expressed her dissatisfaction with such harsh comments.

The gymnast did the right thing; she straightaway blocked the user. Despite such actions, Simone, over the years, has learned to ignore such negativity. All she believes is in spreading love and happiness, as she is readying herself to embark on a new journey with her fiance and soon-to-be-husband, Jonathan Owens.
