Earlier this year, the most decorated gymnast, Simone Biles, and NFL star, Jonathan Owens, tied the knot in a magical setting in Cabos. However, Biles’ Bachelorette party in Feb was all the talk leading to the big day in May. ‘Bride and Boujee,’ the girl gang, and an international gateway stirred up excitement among the queen’s fans back then. But the 2-time Olympian reveals it wasn’t all smooth.

Simone Biles and a few of her friends were in Belize in Feb, following Jonathan Owens’ proposal on the valentines. The trip entailed many charming updates for the spectators over a week of celebrations. However, the ‘crazy part’ behind the scenes was only recently talked about by the gymnast, which also involved a harrowing accident.

Simone Biles reminisces about an unforeseen accident

Recently, Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson hosted an interview with Simone Biles for Peacock’s “2023 Back That Year Up.” From talks about her career and relationship with Jonathan Owens, the interview hosted candid moments. One of the segments in between, however, focused on the gymnast’s bachelorette party. “Congratulations by the way, on your marriage. This is big. I wanna talk to you about your bachelorette party. What was the good stuff?” Kevin Hart said. With the expected reply, Biles’ injury incident also gave gravitas to the answer.

“Lots of tequila, lots of boat days. I mean we had a blast.” Biles began. “I think the craziest part was, like, I sliced my foot open on the golf cart while going to one of the bars.” Simone, who called that a ‘party foul,’ revealed that the incident did not stop the party from going on. Since there was no ‘real hospital,’ the gymnast kept moving until Owens’ family helped her through it. “My husband’s family was there. They got me right,” she reflected.

However, apart from having mis-stepped on the golf cart break, Simone Biles’ bachelorette party was one to remember.

The gymnast’s near-perfect party

Almost 10 days after the proposal, Simone Biles and her girl gang packed and were ready at the airport. Black t-shirts emblazoned with ‘Bach and Boujee Bachelorette Party’ written over them were sported by the rest while Biles’ read, “Bride and Boujee.” The ensuing days saw various drinks on the boats with girls all dressed up to accentuate the weather. Followed by presents for Simone accompanied by gold metallic balloons and a sash reading, “Future Mrs. Owens.”

However, the highlight of it all was the bridal-themed bikinis and outfits that Simone Biles picked. One-shoulder top, tulle sarong covered in pearls, and a large white bow in the back, all and more paved way to the gymnast’s memorable getaway.
