However, what further riveted attention was Jessica’s poignant caption accompanying her Instagram story. Her post was a sincere note of congratulations to all those nominated and everyone who won awards at this year’s BBC SPOTY. She said, Congratulations to all the nominees and winners at this year’s BBC’s SPOTY! All very well deserved!! BBC 70TH SPORTS PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR 2023 @bbcsport and @bbciplayer.

She further added, So gutted I couldn’t be there this year but I had to prioritise my rehab and recovery. I hope everyone enjoyed watching it and feels inspired”. In a statement shared on social media, the 19-year-old gymnast expressed the abrupt nature of the injury and her commitment to recovery: I had to withdraw from the World Championship due to a knee injury—this has resulted in being a full tear to my ACL. I’m still processing this and know there’s a tough journey ahead. With support, I aim to return to the sport I love as soon as possible, though the timeline remains uncertain. Alongside her recovery, Gadirova appreciated the ongoing support and love from her followers.
