Simone Biles is an American icon whose fame transcends the gymnastics floor. Biles has showcased her talent as an athlete several times in different sporting disciplines. From challenging her husband’s NFL teammate Christian Watson to a race to executing a gravity-defying standing backflip midfield after throwing the first pitch at an MLB game, Biles has been a source of inspiration to many.

And now, in an exciting new update, the gymnastics world has met the rugged world of soccer as a USMNT star channels gymnastics moves inspired by the Olympian.

Simone Biles-inspired stint by a USMNT star goes viral

The U.S. Soccer Men’s National Team recently took to X and shared a mesmerizing video. In the short clip, Antonee Robinson, also known as Jedi, was seen executing a gravity-defying cartwheel, followed by two back flips by the sidelines. The celebration was met with elicited roars from the crowd, and a group hug from his proud team members during the USMNT vs. Trinidad & Tobago game on November 16.

USMNT wrote in the caption of the thrilling video with a nod to the gymnastics queen, Simone Biles, asking, “How’d he do Simone Biles?”. Robinson stunned the USMNT vs. Trinidad & Tobago game not just with his incredible gymnastics skills but also with the sheer tenacity that helped his team secure a victory.

On November 16th, in the first leg of the 2023–24 Concacaf Nations League Quarterfinal Round, which also serves as qualifying for the prestigious 2024 Copa America in the United States, the U.S. Men’s National Team earned a huge victory.

Forward Ricardo Pepi, midfielder Gio Reyna, and defender Antonee Robinson were the scorers of the night, and they defeated Trinidad and Tobago in a 3-0 win. Robinson, who assisted the opening goal, took a  brilliant strike in the 85th minute with a shot from 20 yards out.

Just as Simone Biles continues to make her country proud at 26, Antonee Robinson, also a 26-year-old, shares the same sentiment as he stated, “Scoring a goal is the best feeling in the world. So getting to do that for my country is amazing,” in a post-game interview.
