“Still Do Most of Her Laundry”: Simone Biles Once Revealed Her Parents Took Care of Her Menial Tasks Even After Becoming World Champion

Being extremely tall is regarded as a strength in athletics due to some criteria in sports. However, it’s not the only factor determining an athlete’s achievement level. Similarly, Simone Biles, a four-time Olympic gold medalist, and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, is a living testament to the idea that greatness is inevitable, when combined with ability and effort.

In addition, the four-time Olympic gold medalist became an advocate for athletes fighting mental health issues. From time to time, Biles has proved she is not afraid when it comes to doing hard tasks. However, there is one thing that Simone couldn’t do, and she was dependent on her parents.

Biles started practicing gymnastics at a very little age. In addition, as she grew towards success, she started getting endorsement deals. One of her deals was with Tide (a detergent company.) Also, she was  19 years old, when she got this deal.

After partnering with them, Simone said a few words during the interview. During the interview, Simone stated that even now, she remains dependent on her parents, Ronald and Nellie Biles, to do her laundry. First, she said, “I feel like I’m small and mighty and pack a powerful punch, just like Tide PODS.” Further, she added, “Growing up; it was kind of a struggle being small since everyone would make fun of you—except for when it came to hide and seek, that’s the only advantage I ever had!”

Besides working on her Tide campaign, she was also busy in Olympic gymnastics trials in San Jose, California. Thanks to Simone’s great routines that helped her enable a perfect win of first place and cement her position in the USA squad. Since her debut, Biles has been known as a tiny little powerhouse of talent, confidence, and strength. Even the hashtag Tide was describing her, ‘#smallbutpowerful promotion.’

The upcoming generations have hailed Simone as their new age role model. The reason behind it is simply the legacy she has created with her remarkable work. She has come far from living in foster care to standing at the number 1 podium, and receiving a gold medal. In addition, she has fought back against body shamers and doubters since she joined the US gymnastics team.

She demonstrated to the world in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics that taking a break for mental health is not a sign of weakness. Because when she withdrew her name from the Tokyo Olympics, people started poking her calling her weak. Meanwhile, her fans pray for her return to 2024’s Paris Olympics.
