The upcoming Paris Olympics 2024 is set to welcome four new sports in its categories. Surfing, breaking, sport climbing, and skateboarding are debuting in the Olympics world. However, the internet seems to have discovered another sport that should become a part of the Olympics in the following years.

Yesterday, The Olympic Games’ official Instagram page shared a mind-boggling video of a man performing a sport called power tumbling. As the sport has not become a part of the prestigious championship yet, netizens urged the page to soon give tumbling a place in the arena.

How is power Tumbling performed?

Tumbler Aliev Tofig stunned the internet by performing a range of back and front flips. In fact, the 2022 world silver medallist did several flips in the air. In the Instagram video, he ran on a lengthy sprung track and performed incredible stunts. At first, he ran at full speed to provide his body momentum. Midway on the trunk, he began doing a series of backflips.

At one point it seemed like he would remain in the air using his tumbling prowess. However, as he reached the end of the track, he gracefully landed on the landing area, celebrating the finesse at which he was able to pull off a great tumbling show.

For the unversed, tumbling or power tumbling is a sport where an athlete performs a series of acrobatic skills on an 82ft long sprung track. Presently, it comes under gymnastics as trampoline gymnastics. However, tumbling is yet to get its separate space in the Olympics.

Observing the brilliance of the sport, netizens urged the Olympics page to include the sport in its prestigious championship.

Netizens express their take on giving tumbling global recognition

After watching the thrill of Tumbling in the video, netzines vouched for it to become an Olympic sport with one user saying, “Tumbling deserves to be an Olympic sport.” Another user expressed the same emotion for it, “This would be the best event for gymnastics in the Olympics” One viewer showed her disappointment about tumbling not being an Olympic sport yet, “Just a shame this discipline isn’t in the Olympics!”

Nevertheless, some users utilized the comment section to appreciate the tumbler Aliev Tofig’s talent, “I got dizzy just looking at it 🤣😳😳” A similar comment also wrote about him, “got hangover with much less head spinning.”

Presently, organizations such as FIG and the International Federation of Gymnastics govern this sport. Moreover, the world’s impeccable tumblers show their brilliance in the sport at various FIG-organised events, continental confederations, the European Games, and World Games.
