The LSU gymnastics team saw a resurgence in NCAA gymnastics week 5. The LSU squad left the crowd in awe with its splendid performance. On Friday, The LSU Tigers women’s gymnastics team clinched a major triumph as it earned the top score of the year in the NCAA program history.  It’s also the highest score in the country by any team so far this season.

LSU Gymnastics achieved historic highs with a record-breaking score of 198.475 as it dominated the No. 7 Arkansas at 196.200. The impressive match took place in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

LSU record-breaking performance

LSU Gymnastics took to its official Instagram handle to celebrate the glorious triumph. Along with posting a joyous picture of the team from the NCAA gymnastics events, the Louisiana State University featured Alexis Jeffery, with the number 3 ranking etched on the top of her picture. The post caption reads “Back at No. 3 in the polls.”

Interestingly, Alexis Jeffrey led off on bars in the second rotation with a solid 9.875. On the other hand, Haleigh Bryant’s performance was nothing short of spectacular as she matched her season high and posted a 9.975 in the anchor spot to finish as the top performer at the event. Ashley Cowan followed with a 9.775.

Interestingly, Olivia Dunne matched her season high and contributed a 9.875 in the third spot, and earned a 9.775 on bars.

After securing the win, head coach Jay Clark revealed about the main aim of the team  “Well, we got better. That’s what this week was about. The focus and the main goal was to get a good performance, a complete performance,” said Clark. Besides that, the head coach also disclosed about the notable score of the team “I know everyone wants to talk about the score tonight and that’s great. I do not focus on whether we get a low or high score. It’s about our performance,” he added.

Following this,many fans flocked to the comment section to express their encomium for LSU Tigers for showcasing their incredible feat.

LSU Fans express their unfeigned regards for the team

LSU fans have been pouring their support for the team as the squad made them proud by notching the magnificent win. Since the post surfaced on the internet, one of the LSU fans commented, “I really wish for you guys to win the SEC CHAMPIONSHIP AND NCCA CHAMPIONSHIP.” One of the LSU fans also admired the team’s efforts by saying “GEAUX TIGERS FOREVER LSU 💜”.

Yet another fan also admired the performance of the team by penning the comment “Keep pushing ladies!!!.” While, another LSU supporter took to the comment section and expressed his feeling for his favorite team, “Such a joy to watch you ladies compete. Stay focused and continue the climb!”  the fan commented.
