The gymnastics fans were taken aback by the news of Larry Nassar, the former USA gymnastics team doctor, who was accused by a bunch of female gymnasts of se**al ab**e. Days have passed since the horrific incident unfolded, and the doctor is serving 175 years of imprisonment for his terrible actions.

The incident had every gymnastics enthusiast worried about the well-being of the athletes; nonetheless, a new, fresh update from Larissa Libby, the head coach of Iowa Athletics, is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. An investigation has been initiated against her following concerns raised by team members and staff regarding her behavior. This has made fans raise their eyebrows once again as the possibility of gymnastics ab**e resurfaces.

Libby has been placed on paid administrative leave to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation of the earlier-mentioned accusations. The Gymnastics have posted about the same on their Reddit handle and wrote, Recently, members of the team and staff brought forward concerns regarding the head coach, related to the environment within the program. After learning of these concerns, it was determined an independent review of the program was warranted.” They also added that Co-founder of the Education and Sports Law Group, Phil Catanzano, is investigating the case.

Meanwhile, Iowa Athletics has ensured that they are dedicated to providing their athletes with a respectful and safe environment. Amid all these allegations, the Hawkeyes head affirmed last year that she wants to provide her students with a place where they feel independent “so they don’t implicitly take orders from their coaches,” she told The Daily Iowan. With all that being said, the Reddit post from Gymnastics is filled with fans raising their concerns over the aforementioned claims.

Gymnastics fans are not pleased

As soon as the news surfaced on the platform, fans began to share their opinions on the Iowan coach. A fan was surprised and in disbelief at the news of the investigation and wrote, “I will say this is a total shock and an indication that you truly have zero idea what is going on within a program.” Another fan suggested the severity of the reports and wrote, You know it’s bad when the staff has concerns.” One other fan empathizes with the impact of the investigation on the coach’s daughter, who happens to be a gymnast at the facility, and states, “How incredibly awkward for her daughter too…”

Another fan speculated a potential connection between the investigation and the sudden departure of someone referred to as “Q” and wrote, “Perhaps this is related to why Q left so abruptly…” One other fan expressed his disappointment and wrote, “Sigh. I’ve loved Iowa’s gymnastics and sorta quirky personality. It really never ends with this sport. Wishing the best to all the athletes and I hope the investigation is thorough.” However, the final verdict is yet to come, and the investigation is still underway, so the fans would not want to jump to conclusions until the final report is submitted.
