Formally known as the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, the 2024 Paris Olympics‘s opening ceremony is planned along the Seine River on 26 July 2024. Parisian officials have long touted this event as an unprecedented open-air iconic experience, marking the city’s third time hosting the Olympics.

This edition is set to smash records in terms of athletic scope by awarding 329 medals in 32 sports, including some of the most eagerly awaited competitions—artistic gymnastics, swimming, and athletics—all scheduled on the same day. This creates a clash of interests for American fans who are cheering for their favorites in all three dominant sports.

Swimming events and gymnastics finals are overlapping as the alternate days’ schedule coincides with the same-day events, as reported by NBC Sports. There could be multiple finals involving American legends on Saturday, August 3. Notably, the most decorated gymnast in the world and two-time world vault champion Simone Biles is scheduled to compete at 10:19 a.m. ET.

With her unmatched momentum and named moves—such as the fifth and most recent Yurchenko double pike—Biles is set to make a big impression and hopes to add more honors to her already impressive resume. Americans have a long history with Russian gymnasts posing as an equal threat as well as Brazilian gymnasts. In the October World’s Rebeca Andrade won gold in vault while seven-time Olympic medalist Biles took silver. The thrill of the day doesn’t end there.
