Amidst this, Franklin spoke about the upcoming edition of the Laureus World Sports Awards, and how things were looking for the two stars.

Biles immediately recalled going to her first Laureus Awards and meeting someone special. Since the event focused on sportspersons, many legendary athletes were present on the guest list. Out of them, the star gymnast remembered feeling out of place, after meeting the world’s fastest man – Usain Bolt.

The star-studded event, combined with the excitement of meeting one of the greatest athletes of all time, made Simone Biles feel overwhelmed. Speaking to Shiffrin and Franklin, she revealed,?“I remember going to my first one, and I was with Usain Bolt…and I was like, “what am I doing here?””. However, Bolt also held Biles up with the same amount of respect and admiration. This came to light after the gymnast quit the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

The Tokyo Olympics, unfortunately, witnessed Simone Biles hit a mental low point. While the star gymnast aced as many competitions as possible, she eventually reached a breaking point that pushed her to the brink. It eventually resulted in Biles calling it quits during the Olympics.

Although it caused a lot of sadness among fans, fellow athletes immediately came to Biles’ support.?Usain Bolt was one of the many legends who appreciated?the gymnast’s courage and decision to pull out due to all the pressure.
