Reflecting on his routine, Fred Richard stated, “Sunday is the lighter day…I like doing that seven days a week.”  The athlete further explained that at the time of the interview, he was still in the coach’s room for a meeting. However, Richard stated that on Sundays, he trains for a couple of hours without any heavy lifting. His routine predominantly involves physical therapy and yoga.

The interviewer then proceeded to ask him whether he would have trained so hard if Richard did not have his gym close by. To this, Richard replied that he was already training for six days and that a one-day lag would, in turn, rupture the consistency of his training. In fact, Richard received a huge boost for his training as none other than Noah Lyles shared secret tips with him.

Noah Lyles inspires Richard with valuable advice

Recently, Fred Richard uploaded a reel on his Instagram showcasing himself Face-Timing with Noah Lyles. When Richard showed Lyles his run-up, the 6x world champion found it amusing. He then proceeded to don the hat of a coach and teach the youngster a thing or two about gymnastics.

Richard’s special regime included running and hopping on one leg on a 1.2m inclined slope, sideways speed bouncing on high and narrow boxes, and a reaction game. The game demanded Richard to run from a resting position or after completing a set of push-ups. Having done all the hard work, Lyles asked the 19-year-old to relax and enjoy in the pool. Thus, with renewed vigor, Frederick Richard is looking to make it big at the upcoming Paris Olympics.
