

Sunisa Lee has established herself as one of the most impactful sports personalities in the last few years. Ever since she won a gold medal in the 2021 Olympics, she has been on a mission to achieve and strive for greater heights in gymnastics. Her father, who got paralyzed during an unfortunate accident after falling from a ladder, has been her biggest supporter. She fulfilled her father’s dream and won the gold medal in the all-around individual category. With that win, she became the first Asian-American to hold that title. Two years later, Lee is now preparing for the Paris Olympics in 2024.

When Lee became the champion, her parents could not attend the event because of the COVID-19 protocols. Now, her parents are excited for her appearance at the Paris Olympics and have discussed her preparations.

What Sunisa Lee’s parents have to say
In an interview given to NBC, her parents, Yeev Thoj and John Lee, told Gia Vang of NBC that she is doing absolutely fine. This was regarding her health issues related to her kidneys, but according to her parents, she is practicing every day. Her father stated, “Now that she is an adult, this journey is her journey.” He further added, “The Hmong community is pretty excited.” She was the first individual from the Hmong community to compete in an Olympics. While her mother added, “She wanted to go to Paris in 2024.”

Not to mention that the 20-year-old sustained a kidney condition this year in April. Following the condition, she had to take a break from gymnastics, but she made her comeback recently. She was spotted at the gym training for the upcoming US Classic scheduled for August 4?5 to polish her best abilities before the commencement of the Paris Olympics.

Her preparations for the big event
Ever since she hit the gym for the training, it is reported that she has taken it slowly so as to avoid any health complications. This Minnesota-born and raised gymnast is looking forward to repeating her previous Olympics performance with her team, which also includes legendary gymnasts like Simone Bile, Jordan Chiles, And Jade Carrey. Together they will be representing Team USA across the various gymnastics events next year.
