When it comes to gymnastics, only a few can match up to the brilliance of Simone Biles. Having won 25 World Championship medals and seven Olympic medals, she is undeniably the GOAT of the sport. When Simone won four gold medals in Rio, she became the first female U.S gymnast to secure the feat in a single game. She also became the first gymnast to register three consecutive world all-around title wins.

Since she stepped into the professional world, she has kept raising the bar for herself. Thus, when she announced her withdrawal from the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, many very left disappointed. During the said time, she was not in the best state, yet being a sport, she stood up for her teammate!

Simone showed her faith

As Simone stepped down, opportunities opened for Jade Carey. People might have thought that Simone would not be attending the finals after announcing her withdrawal. But such was not the case; she did not just come to see the match but also became her teammate’s biggest support.

Showing her full support, Simone, with teammates Biles, Chiles, and McCallum, were heard cheering for Jade. From the stands, they comforted Jade by saying, “You got this!” She did not just cheer for her but also gave her some valuable advice.

As Jade revealed to the Associated Press, Simone told her, “good luck and go out there, do the best I can, and have fun,” Despite being in a difficult position herself, the Olympic gold medalist made sure to be there for her friend.

Further into the interview, Jade revealed that Simone also helped her realize that she has the potential to perform the best. Before the event, Simone said to Jade, ‘it happened, and you can’t do anything about it.’ The night before the event was difficult for Carey, but being a true friend Simone made sure to be with her!

Living up to her friend’s and everyone’s expectations in the finals, Carey put on a stellar performance. Securing gold, she beat Italy’s, Vanessa Ferrari. That day, she did not just make the Nation proud but also made a friend happy by showing faith in her. Sharing her experience from the winning moment, the young gymnast quoted, “I’m really glad it paid off.”
