As stars like Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, and Gabby Douglas missed the Texan camp, the limelight revolved around Trinity Thomas on the first day. The NCAA gymnastics legend is already looking for a comeback. So after the Winter Cup, in Katy, she made a hearty try to make her mark. However, as USA Gymnastics posted on Apr 3, Trinity ended her verification with an all-around score of 50.550. That score remained far behind Simone Biles’s practice mate’s achievement.

In the updated list, Tiana Sumanasekera, the elite gymnast from World Champions Centre, Texas, closed the day in second position. Her all-around score, 52.750, remained behind Dulcy Caylor. Caylor continued her form from the 2024 DTB Pokal Mixed Cup which gave her the championship title. In Katy, the 16-year-old claimed the highest vault score yesterday. That eventually helped her to stay on top in the verification round. In the vault final, Reese Esponda made her stunning comeback.

In the verification round, the 3x NCAA champion scored 13.150 on the floor final, the overall third-highest score. Before coming to the Texan camp, the 22-year-old gymnastics legend counted on such things.
