As the 2024 NCAA Gymnastics Championships has well and truly kicked off, Louisiana State University has once again dominated the mats, this time in West City, Utah. Earlier in the season opener, LSU breezed past Ohio State University with a score of 196.975. This time in Utah, they bettered their previous score as star gymnast Olivia Dunne led the floor routines.

Olivia was highly impressive in the season opener against Ohio State and posted a score of 9.875. Looking to fulfill her bold promise, she once again mesmerized the crowds with a jaw-dropping routine.

Olivia Dunne stops the breath of people inside the stadium

As LSU rocks in celebrations, Olivia Dunne mesmerized the crowd with a scintillating routine on the mat. An Olivia fan and sports journalist Holly Rowe posted a clip of her performance on X and wrote, “Gorgeous floor routine from Olivia Dunne @LSUgym @ncaagym @espnW“. A joyous and excited Livvy stops the breaths inside the stadium as the music starts, and she kicks off her exhilarating routine.

Livvy was wearing the typical purplish-blue LSU leotard as she flipped her legs and arms to the soothing beats. She then starts making a run for air flips, and after multiple on-air flips, Olivia makes a perfect landing with crowds cheering behind her. The 22-year-old continues to showcase her athletic prowess with on-air leg stretches. With each stretch, the cheers became even louder as Olivia played a crucial role in LSU’s top-place finish in the Sprouts Collegiate Meet.

With 3 contests scheduled against the big giants of Number 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 Utah City, and No. 12 UCLA, the 5th-ranked LSU was brilliant on Saturday afternoon in the Maverick Center. The Tigers secured a 2nd-place finish with a score of 197.150. They topped Utah (196.975) and UCLA (197.100) but fell behind the fiery Oklahoma who scored 197.900.

The stars of the show were junior Alexis Jeffrey on beam with 9.775 while Amari Bryant was again brilliant with a score of 9.900. Vault routines were led by KJ Johnson with a score of 9.925. The top performer in floor routine was Ballard with 9.825 followed by senior Olivia Dunne with a score of 9.850. The Tigers are now scheduled for a face off against Kentucky on 19 January.
