Gymnasts looking forward to the Pacific Rim Championships and the City of Jesolo Trophy have USA Gymnastics Training Camp acting as the springboard. But not everyone would want to invest in this, keeping the upcoming competitions in mind. Among them, Jordan Chiles’ name came up lately, since she opted out from the Camp verification.

USA Gymnastics’ X post reads, “Selection Event Update: Jordan Chiles is not participating in this verification for international assignments so she can take her time to prepare for the upcoming Classic competitions“. This news came shortly after the 2024 Winter Cup, which also didn’t have Chiles as one of the participants. Though it’s unconfirmed whether she’s participating in the upcoming Classics, it can be assumed that she’s gearing up strong.

The one who said “It’s just going to be training and really focusing on getting my consistency back”, has no plans to rule herself out from major competitions anymore. This especially became visible when she bagged the all-around bronze at the 2023 Pan-Am Championships. In 2024, she has not been able to make an entry yet, but her training regime speaks in assertion. After her verification withdrawal news surfaced, her mom Gina Chiles cleared the air.

Jordan Chiles’ mom always having her daughter’s back

In response to USA Gymnastics’ news break, Gina posted, I wanted to say something because I saw everyone asking but was patiently waiting for USAG to update the list . She’s there verifying but not for assignment”. For more clarity, one of her comments read that her Olympian daughter’s primary focus is the US Classic. So, only the gymnast can figure a way around it.

Throughout the 2024 season, she wants to train in Texas. But her transition from a successful UCLA life to just Olympic training hasn’t been easy. Especially when she has had a fine NCAA season. A woman of great determination and grit, Jordan Chiles had her days while deciding to focus solely on the elite season. “I just really wanted to take time to myself to make sure I was ready and mentally prepared going into this next cycle of my life.”
