Simone Biles, a gymnast who stunned the world in the Rio Olympics and has since improved her abilities, made her parents and country proud of her achievements.

However, there was one thing that she feared from time to time. It’s the fear of going broke. Biles is a thrifty shopper and once spoke about the reason and origin of the fear in an interview.

Per the gymnastics legend Simone Biles, money should be the least concerning thing for her. Biles’ net worth is reportedly $16 million. After winning five medals in Rio, she had already established herself as a dominant force in gymnastics. 

Simone once stated the reason behind her fear. Simone appeared on the show Kneading Dough in 2019; and explained how much she likes shopping. However, every time she shops, she spends way more than she plans to. She also explained the reason for her fear.

Biles said, “My coach came over, and she said, ‘No, you’re just not allowed to cash it, but you can touch it.’ So I thought touching would forfeit everything, so I refused and jumped off the podium.” Apart from her fear of going broke, Biles had made a down payment on a new property before just appearing on the show.

Previously, Simone had mentioned getting a credit card from her father before the Olympics. Her father gave her, but she didn’t utilize it nearly as much as her sister did. Talking about her card usage, she stated, “I didn’t really swipe the card. Maybe once in a while, I’d go get Subway. But other than that, I didn’t swipe it.”

Simone’s has done many endorsements, one being a Subway commercial. Along with Subway, Athleta, where Biles debuted her athleisure clothing line, has been added to her roster of collaborations. The gymnast made millions from different partnerships throughout the years. Simone is about to get married to her long-term fiancee, and NFL player, Jonathan Owens. And the couple’s fans are desperately waiting for it.
