

Life cannot be fair to everyone and every time. There are fair shares of struggles in each and every individual’s life. The best example of this is Mary Sanders, who is an American individual, Rhythmic Gymnast. She is a two-time Canadian Rhythmic Gymnastics Champion and three-time USA Rhythmic Champion. Her achievements go beyond just these titles. However, she did not attain all of this in one go, nor was it served to her on a silver platter.

She reached this position through immense challenges and a great deal of suffering. From familial issues to career struggles, she has confronted them all. Now, having attained her desired goals, she has also embarked on a career as an author. She has penned a book that delves into her struggles and chronicles her journey to her current position.
Mary Sanders faced immense struggle to win in her gymnastics career?
It would be entirely inaccurate to claim that Mary Sanders had an easy journey. Everything, from selecting her career to pursuing it, deviated from the norm for her. She surmounted numerous obstacles and confronted formidable challenges on her path to victory. At the tender age of 8, tragedy struck with the passing of her father?a former US Gymnast and Big Ten champion at the University of Michigan. It had been his aspiration for Sanders to excel in artistic gymnastics. With two brothers who displayed no aptitude in this field, she was the one who received coaching right from the outset.

But it was not easy for a single mother to pursue sports as a career then. Two after her father passed away, she shifted from artistic to rhythmic gymnastics. Initially, Sanders felt like an underdog, according to the Olympics, she expressed, “Everyone was so much better than me. I just felt like a failure for so long.” However, her sole source of motivation to persist came from her mother. Sanders labored diligently, heeding her mother’s counsel. They even faced bankruptcy in their unwavering pursuit of a gymnastics career.
It was not an easy job to attain this position. She had to move around every year, still, Mary Sanders did not give up. By the age of 17, she made her way to the World Championships. This got the eye of USA Gymnastics. This was the start of her success.
Mary Sanders finally finds her way to success
There is no doubt in the fact that Sanders had to endure a multitude of problems, and she felt a strong urge to uphold her father’s legacy. She expressed, “I had to go through a lot of ups and downs to get there, but my last two years competing for the US were a godsend.”?After reaching the position where she wanted to be in gymnastics, Sanders has also been an executive assistant, a vice president of entertainment, acted, married, and had two kids and recently she has become an author.

In her book 9 Lives by 35, she has written all about her struggles and how she has lived different lives. This woman did not let the struggles and sacrifices of her mother go in vain. She also lived up to the name of her father and is looking forward to doing so much more in her life.
