The 2024 Paris Olympics have recently been in the news for all the wrong reasons. In the past few weeks, the 2024 Paris Olympics Organizing Committee has come under intense scrutiny from the French police. Authorities raided the offices of the organizing committee last week as part of an ongoing investigation regarding Games related contracts.

Despite ongoing probes into the 2024 Olympics, the head of the organizing committee, Tony Estanguet, remains steadfast in his dedication to delivering an unforgettable sporting spectacle to the world. With just a year to go for the world’s biggest sporting event, Tony Estanguet sat down with the Associated Press to talk about a number of pressing matters surrounding the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Estanguet was the face of Paris’s bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The former Olympic canoeing champion was still in his office at the Olympic headquarters when police came knocking. The Frenchman admits that his whole staff was rather surprised by the raiding of their headquarters by the French police. However, the Olympic Chief maintains that the corruption and ethical scandal have no weight, but he along with his colleagues will continue to cooperate with the authorities. Estanguet firmly believes that there will surely be more questions to answer as the investigation progress. He is of the opinion that the scrutiny will continue right till the end and maybe even after the Games have concluded.
