The Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024 have been an exhilarating showcase of talent. 1,900 young athletes from around 80 nations converged in the Republic of Korea. However, as the 3rd period unfolds, at 5:53 minutes, Team USA has secured two goals, while Czechia is yet to mark their score.

However, on January 30, Team USA triumphed over Canada in a shootout, securing a hard-fought 6-5 victory. Despite being outshot 42-17, the U.S. showcased resilience. Goaltender Xavier Wendt made 37 crucial saves. This marked the third consecutive shootout for Team USA, overcoming earlier losses to Slovakia (5-4) and Czechia (6-5) in the preliminary round. Head coach Joe Bonnett praised the team’s effort and chemistry. He expressed pride in their journey as they advanced to the gold-medal game against Czechia.
