On January 31st, the Organizing Committee of the Paris Olympics 2024 unveiled additional details regarding the Marathon Pour Tous. Distinguishing itself as a first in Olympic history, this revolutionary concept opens the door for the general public to engage in one of two races. These races are set to transpire on Saturday, August 10th, along the identical course as the Olympic marathon. However, participants can opt for the classic marathon distance of 42.195km or the 10km run. Each race accommodates 20,024 individuals and occurs shortly after the conclusion of the men’s Olympic marathon. The allocation of 35,000 bibs offers members of the public a unique opportunity to be part of this historic event.

The genesis of this inclusive initiative traces back to Olympic Day on June 23, 2019. On that day, Paris’s Place de la Concorde was transformed into a sporting festival. It introduced the public to the Olympic and Paralympic disciplines. Commemorating the occasion, a 2,024m race unfolded. It granted 24 bibs (12 for men and 12 for women) for the Paris 2024 Marathon Pour Tous.
