While on the one hand he was not supposed to leave his bed due to his 23 surgeries, Ethan is now hoping to find a place in the games. On April 17, 2023, Heather Russell, the proud mother of Ethan Russell, took to her Twitter to let people know about her son. She captioned the video with, “15 seconds of my heart bursting with joy. After 23 surgeries, 5 heart surgeries, heart attack, told he would never walk, my Ethan running for Special Olympics.”

Moreover, in the short video, the 17-year-old boy was seen running on a track, reaching the endpoint with his unmatched willpower. In fact, he was waving toward the crowd and smiling while feeling his spirit. Significantly, Ethan has Floating-Harbor Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that impacts bone age, skeletal formation, and the ability to speak.

Although that is not the only ailment he has. Reportedly, the boy has been suffering from several heart attacks, numerous surgeries, and cerebral palsy since childhood. But being the “miracle baby”, he never let those odds curb his enthusiasm. This year he would make his debut in the Special Olympics.

However, the video from Mrs. Russell seemingly caught the eyes of the sports world and they couldn’t help paying reverence to him. Seeking inspiration from him, one penned, “My son and grandson have Cerebral Palsy, Ethan gives me hope and determination to keep up with him. You are a shining.” Sharing her son’s video, a mother was in tune with Heather and commented, “My James is running with you.”

Evidently, Fans couldn’t unsee his unparalleled enthusiasm, as a user wrote, “He is a miracle baby in my opinion. Amazing.”Another fan pointed out Ethan’s gesture while sprinting toward the end and added,The wave and the smile.”
