Courteous Jonathan Owens Becomes Everyone’s Favorite at the 2023 Simone Biles International Invitational

Simone Biles is among the greatest gymnasts in Olympics history. Shortly after her historic showing at Rio 2016, the gymnast turned her attention to helping talented young find a footing in the sport. Her efforts took the form of The Biles International Invitational in 2018.

This year the gymnastics meet turned six. However, Simone Bile’s fiance Jonathan Owens‘s presence at the 2023 Invitational is winning the hearts of organizers and competitors. The Houston Texans’ safety volunteered at this year’s event and became an instant favorite of everyone at the venue.

Like every year, the 2023 edition of the Biles International Invitational happened at the World Champions Center. Earlier, the NFL player posted multiple stories on his Instagram. Owens shared the Instagram stories and posts of the young gymnasts who competed in the meet. Everyone praised Owens for being courteous enough to click pictures with the budding gymnasts.
However, the Texans player did much more than pose for pictures with talented gymnasts. Many of the athletes also posted stories that showed Owens at the athletes’ check-in desk. Biles’s fiance helped sign in the participants who came to his spot at the desk. Digital Producer Billiy Mounchan, who shot the event, uploaded a montage of Owens’s hard work during the meet. It showed Owens at the desk hyping the contestants. “My pick for Volunteer of the year,” wrote Mounchan in an Instagram Reel

The NFL player lugged around heavy boxes, probably filled with gymnastics equipment. He also wore a shirt with the Biles International Invitational logo, blending in with the other volunteers at the event. The Olympian’s best friend, Rachel Moore, shared Mounchan’s video on her Instagram story and wrote, “MVP FORSURE!”. Other gymnasts have not only hosted similar meets, but also commended Biles for her efforts. One of them, is gymnastics icon Nastia Lukin.
The compulsory qualifier for a prestigious meet
Like the four-time Olympic gold winner, Nastia Lukin is also an American gymnast. Lukin won five Olympic medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, which included one gold, one bronze, and three silvers. The Nastia Lukin Cup began in 2010 and is also an annual gymnastics meet.
